How to Block a Domain or IP Address

This article is intended for advanced users only. Please do not block IP addresses unless you know what you are doing, otherwise you risk locking yourself out of your own account!

It is possible to block access to your site to specific systems and users by blocking their IP or IP range.

To block an IP or domain:

  1. Connect to your cPanel.
  2. Under Security, click on IP Deny Manager.
  3. Specify the IP address where requested. Generally you will be specifying an IP address you found suspicious in your log files.
  4. Click on Add.

Note:

You may add IP addresses using the following format:
10.5.3.33
Simple IP Address
10.5.3.3-10.5.3.40
Range
10.5.3.5-40
Implied Range
10.5.3.3/32
CIDR Format
10.
Implies 10.*.*.*
